Make monetary donations. Take training and go to affected disaster areas and volunteer. Volunteer at local Red Cross setting to help with phones, packing supplies, etc.

In Biloxi, MS. Working among the poorest of the poor since the 1920's providing basic and comprehensive support. Work crews for cleanup and repair will be organized in upcoming weeks. Severly hit and reorganizing at this time, but expect them to be in the heart of the recovery.

THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST click here:
Direct dollar-for-dollar aid with no overhead taken out, no advertising costs, etc. This is an alternative if you don't have a faith community to give through.


BACK TO THE BAYOUS BOAT BUILDING PROJECT

Begining soon and continuing through the winter and into the spring, we will be building basic, flat bottom plywood jon boats for needy fishing folks (probably around Biloxi, MS). Many fishermen in the area made a living fishing for catfish and shrimp, but lost everything in the storm. As they attempt to return to the life they once knew, a new boat, even a basic one like this, will help them get started. Progress photos wil be posted as things get underway.
